Maddy's Four Legged Friends

Many people asked as we were waiting for Madelynn to arrive how we thought our first "babies", Rascal and Lucy would react. We weren't exactly sure, but thought that Rascal may be a tad jealous of his mom paying so much attention to someone else, and that Lucy would be all about her. We were pretty much right on the money as far as Lucy is concerned. She follows Madelynn everywhere and wants to be right by her smelling her and sitting near whoever is holding her. She has stolen her pacifier a time or too, but fortunately hasn't destroyed it and after being disinfected it is as good as new. Rascal was slightly standoffish at first, but has definitely come around. He will also follow her, and try to peek into her cradle, pack-n-play, or swing just to make sure she is all right. The first night we were home they were up with every sound she made, now they just lay in bed and look at us as if to say "Why is she awake in the middle of the night? Can't you do something about her interrupting our sleep?" It will be interesting to see what they think of her when she is mobile and can chase them and pull their tails and ears. Unfortunately, I think that time will be here before we know it. She has changed so much in these first two weeks, it is hard to believe.
