Kevin and I both like to travel, and were both a little stir crazy. We hadn't taken a trip since last spring, and we typically go somewhere in the fall around our anniversary, which was the following week. Our fall vacation has been to go to the cabin in the Smoky Mountains in Tennessee, but had decided that it wasn't feasible for us to go anywhere this year with two little ones. We changed our minds, last Monday afternoon at about 2:00. Both of us agreed that where ever we went needed to be with in a four to five hour drive and that we needed to stay somewhere with a kitchen to make things easier with the girls. We decided on Branson, MO because it is family friendly and close. We left Tuesday at 11:00, and I must say we didn't forget a thing we needed for the girls. I was pretty impressed with ourselves. The drive down was trying. Emma did great, she slept almost the entire time. Maddy on the other hand was one unhappy camper for the majority of our drive. But we arrived and had a nice time for the few days we were there.
Here is Miss Emma sleeping in her car seat at Silver Dollar City.
Here is Maddy yelling, "Momma." before the bug ride began. She really did enjoy it once it started up, she just wasn't certain of it at first. Infact she rode it with Mommy again for a second time right after she and Daddy's ride ended.
Driving a off terrain vehicle at Bass Pro Shops.
Swimming with Daddy in the indoor pool.
Sadly, this will be our last vacation until next fall. No more trips for us. We have too many things to do to get our house ready to sell and our ground ready for us to build next year. It was fun trip, and nice to get away with girls where we could just focus on them and not the chores we have to keep up with at home.
