Pumpkin Carving

Pumpkins or "Punkins" as Madelynn calls them, were her favorite part of the Halloween season.  We looked for them in stores, counted them on our walks, and checked on our Elmo punkin and Rich's punkins on a daily basis.  Rich is our next door neighbor, and he and his wife Pat had two large plastic jack-o-lanterns that Madelynn loved.

We carved our first family Jack-O-Lantern one evening after dinner.  If you look close at Maddy's outfit you can tell that we ate pizza for dinner that evening.  Emma and Maddy positioned themselves on the island to help Daddy.

Emma's new favorite spot is the Bumbo.  She likes to sit up so that she can take in all the action.
Madelynn checking out the guts of pumpkin.  See the pizza sauce on her shirt?  One would think that her silly parents would no by now to remove the white shirt before a girl eats a red sauce.
Our finished jack-o-lantern.  Unfortunately he got all soft and gushy before Halloween so we didn't have him for the big night.  Oh, well our Elmo pumpkin was there to greet our trick or treators.
