Two and Sassy

Two years ago, on February 25, 2009, I recieved the best birthday present ever.  I became a mommy for the first time to my sweet Maddy Mae.  And now she is a full blown toddler who will tell you that she is "Two and Sassy".  And sassy she is, along with smart, sweet, and spunky.

Here she is sitting in Emmas swing, and although she hasn't used a paci since she was nine months old, Maddy put her sisters in her mouth when she was being silly.
And here she is in the swing with Emma.  Emma was laughing, but then stopped to give me the "Mom, get her off of my stuff" look.
She loves playing with play dough and coloring.  We do those things and read books on a daily basis.  And now she tells me that she wants to play in her room with Emma.  She is pretty fond of her little sister.  We play with her beauty shop, puzzles, and remote control pink car lots too.  Maddy still loves stroller rides and is itching to get back outside just like so many of the rest of us.
Maddy is becoming increasingly more independent.  She likes to choose her own clothes and shoes, to walk and hold our hand instead of riding when both Kevin and I are there.  She likes to help empty the dishwasher, get things for her little sister, and to help mommy clean.  She is very interested in using the big girl potty and potty training is on my to do list this spring.
She also loves our weekly activities.  We do a Mommy and Me dance class and playgroup once a week.  She looks forward to both and talks about going to see her friends when we are there.  We sing lots of songs and do lots of dances and princess stretches during the week  inbetween classes. One of her favorite activities at playgroup is the basketball hoop.  So that is what we gave her for her birthday.  It is an adjustable one that will grow with her, but unfortunately its a bit too big for her to do independently.
Lucky for her, Daddy is more than willing to encourage this interest in sports.  Her birthday party is next weekend, so I will post pictures of those festivities soon.
The past two years have been amazing, and we look forward to watching her grow from a cute a cuddly toddler into a sweet young girl.  But not too fast, I am still enjoying the fact that both my "babies" need me.
Happy Brithday Maddy Mae!
Mommy and Daddy love you lots
