Faux Camping

Kevin wanted to take the girls camping this fall, so we took them fake camping.  What is fake camping you ask?  Fake camping is when you "camp" in a cabin with a King size bed, a full kitchen, a lovely shower, and cable tv.  However we maintained that we were roughing it because the hot tub outside had a frog on the cover, and there was no Nick Jr. for the kids.

We did have a real camp fire, where we roasted marshmallows and hot dogs.

We also made smores and campfire pies while we were there and took the stroller on a semi rugged trail.
We camped just outside of Carbondale, Illinois and went to
Giant City State Park that has a fabulous family style chicken dinner.
This was just a cute pic to share, Emma pulled out her hair tye and had crazy hair as we were driving home.
We had made the reservations for camping before we sold our house, and although I'm sure some thought we were crazy for going out of town a week and a half before moving, it was a much needed break from the chaos and a great chance for us to make time for just us and our girls.
