Cookie Baking

One of my favorite family traditions is Christmas cookie baking. My mom and I used to do it with my Grandma when she was living, and after she passed for a several years continued on the tradition with our good family friends the Brinkers. Now we are back to doing it as just our family. Lindsey, mom, and myself spend the better part of a day making several types of cookies to give to coworkers, friends, family members, and neighbors. This year we made twelve types of cookies. Here is Lindsey making turtles.

Turtles are pretty easy to make. You place pecans down on a cookie sheet and top them with a caramel. Put them into the oven until the caramel is shiny and soft, and then top with a piece of chocolate. Once the chocolate has softened you swirl it with a tooth pick, and finally put them in the fridge to cool.
Two other types we made, Snickerdoodles and White Chocolate Dipped Cherry Cookies.
