My mom's family gets together in between Thanksgiving and Christmas each year for one day of celebrating. My aunt and uncle, Barb and Greg, drive down from Wisconsin to spend the weekend with us. Here are some pictures of the festivities.

Maddy giving an awe to the pink suitcase. This pink suitcase and it's larger partner travel between our family. We had them both and gave one away in the white elephant exchange, but used this one to wrap Nick's present in.

She liked the presents and wanted to bang on them and squeeze them. She didn't open any of them before it was time though.
Madelynn sorts the candy at my parents house. She throws out the snickers, mints, and other goodies, but latches onto the Reeses. This is funny because she has never had any of them. I think she just likes the shape and texture of it. She has to be closely monitored when playing with them though, because she has started to pop them in her mouth wrapper and all.
It was a wonderful weekend, busy but wonderful. Whenever we get flustered by having so many places to go, we think of the people who don't have families and friends to celebrate with, or the people who are struggling and can't afford a Thanksgiving feast or even a normal meal. And we become thankful that our holidays are whirlwinds, filled with family, good food, and togetherness. We are lucky to have such busy holidays.
