Mommy and Maddy's Weekend of Fun

This past weekend was Deer Season, this usually means that Kevin goes to the woods for the weekend for some guy time. So in preparation for this, Madelynn and I made plans for the weekend to keep ourselves busy while Daddy was away. Much to Kevin's disappointment he was unable to stay at the clubhouse and hunt where he normally hunts due to flooding. He still hunted, he just did it in a different location and came home at night. Maddy and I's plans however continued on. On Friday night, we had girl's game night. Some of my girlfriends and I get together once a month at each others' houses and play a game and have dinner together. This month, Madelynn tagged along and Taryn brought her little guy Carter as well. Here is Madelynn pulling herself up with Carter's help. Poor little guy, I don't think he knew quite what to think of this situation.

On Saturday, the Brindleys' came for a visit. Faith and Vance brought Madelynn a cute Thanksgiving bib, and a whole bag full of videos that they had when they were babies. Maddy had a fun time playing with them and it was great to see them again.
Saturday night, we had a slumber party with Aunt Lindsey and Chewy. First we went to eat at Cracker Barrell and did a little shopping in Edwardsville. When we shop now, Madeylnn helps to pick out her outfits by grabbing items off of racks and not letting go. She has pretty good tastes, but I'm not sure that her Daddy is too fond of this new skill. Here is the sleeping beauty.

Dave and Lindsey's dog Chewy thinks that he is a lap dog. What do you think, can he snuggle up on your lap?

He is a great dog and is super with Maddy. He did however wake us all up at 1:00 in the a.m. barking and growling, because we believe a cat dared to come into his yard. Chewy is not a fan of cats, or Lucy for that matter but that is a story for another day.
Madelynn and Mommy's weekend of fun will continue the first weekend in December. Hopefully, Kevin will be able to hunt in his normal spot by then so that his weekend is just as fun as ours.
